Longer teeth or exposed tooth roots can increase your sensitivity to heat,
cold or sweets and leave your root susceptible to damage. In some cases, gum
tissue can be placed in these areas.
Procedure: The periodontist administers a
local anesthetic, gently prepares the area and then places a gum tissue graft. This will thicken the gum and stop further recession, improve or eliminate sensitivity, and decrease the risk of root damage.
